When are horses considered "in-today"?

Horses are considered "in-today" until the race is completed. This terminology refers to horses that are active and officially participating in a race on a given day. Once a race has concluded, those horses are no longer in that day's active field.

Before the race is run, horses may be entered and engaged in racing but can experience changes, such as being scratched (withdrawn from the race) or having jockeys assigned to ride them. However, the status of being "in-today" specifically pertains to the active participation of the horse until the end of the race.
